あるご縁で譲り受けた商店街のガラガラ抽選器。にぎやかな時代の面影と放置された長年の傷。商店街が錆びれてしまうことの多い現代、こうした抽選器も世の中から姿を消していっている。修復をして参加したアースデイ奈良に展示したところ、子ども達のかっこうのおもちゃに。その年のアースデイ奈良のテーマは「種をまこう」。ドングリなど木の実を手にした子ども達に、種のこと・森のこと感じてもらえたかな…

I acquired a rattling raffle machine from a shopping arcade reminiscent of the thriving era from the past with scratches made from long use. In our current times when shopping arcades are becoming desolated, these raffle machines are also disappearing. When it was restored and exhibited at Earth Day Nara, it became a popular toy for children. The theme of Earth Day Nara was “Let’s sow seeds.” I hope something about the seed and forest resonated in the hearts of children when they got to take home the nuts as acorns.
