Yagyug Douguten is an interior design firm established in Tokyo by Fumitaka Suzuki. In 2018, the firm relocated its base to a former tea factory in the mountain village of Nara, and expanded the work field in product design and installation work as an artist. Their philosophy is “the thing and the story.” By exploring the history behind the place and people as well as their character, the team strives to breathe a “story” into the space/product. When a “story” is told, the reader is fascinated by the main character, and becomes inspired to think about society, and at times, it is even life changing. Yagyug Douguten aims to create experiences like this through design.

やぐゆぐ道具店は東京で設立されたデザイン事務所です。2018年には奈良の山村にある旧製茶工場に拠点を移し、インテリアデザインの他、プロダクトやインスタレーション制作も行っています。理念は「もの と ものがたり」。土地・人の歴史や個性を探求し、空間やプロダクトに「物語」を吹き込むこと。「物語」を読むと、主人公に夢中になり、社会について考え、生き方が変わるような事があります。デザインでもそのような体験が生まれることを目指しています。商業施設・個人店舗・オフィス・公共空間など、全国各地において様々なプロジェクトに携わっています。

鈴木文貴　1978年千葉県船橋市生まれ。2001年東京造形大学デザイン学部卒業後、設計施工会社・インテリアデザイン事務所勤務を経て2012年4月独立。
